Hot Chocolate

hot-chocolate-ck-1687649-lAnything worth doing, is worth doing right.  I tend to be less particular about niggly things, like spelling or grammar, but I am very serious about my hot chocolate.  On a crappy cold and wet -rainy not snowy wet- day like today, I need hotchocolate.  as follows

1.5 cups whole milk add .5 cinnamon sticks, .5 vanilla bean, scraped, 1 dried red chile halved and seeded.

simmer until shimmery

let stand 10 minutes.

add 3.5 ounces grated dark chocolate — I like green and black’s 70 percent bar, whisk until incorparated and foamy.

Top with real whipped cream.

Makes about 2-4 servings, as it is pretty rich. 

I wore feminite du bois today, which was lovely fruit and spice, underscored with cedar.
